It all started with a love of science and a great book. “I met and fell in love with neuroscience at university,” McKay says. “I read Oliver Sacks’ book, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, and I couldn’t imagine anything more fascinating than the brain and how it works. It was a natural progression to carry on, do a PhD and become an academic researcher.
