DoC Lecturer receives prestigious Google Faculty Research Award for 2016

DoC’s Dr Marc Deisenroth, Lecturer in Statistical Machine Learning, is this year recipient of a prestigious Google Faculty Research Award. Marc Deisenroth, Lecturer in the Department of Computing since 2014, is recipient of a prestigious Google Faculty Research Award for 2016. This one-year award supports the work of world-class, permanent faculty members at leading universities around the world with the aim of advancing cutting-edge research in computer science, engineering and related fields. For the 2016 awards, only 16% of the 950 proposals submitted were successful. Marc received the Google Faculty Research Award in the category of Machine Learning. Among other topics, Marc’s research focuses on scalable probabilistic models and data-efficient machine learning in the context of robotics and autonomous systems.
