Deal between Richmond company and Google could spell future of artificial intelligence

The quest for artificial intelligence has eluded scientists for generations, but Richmond company D-Wave Systems Inc. is helping make the dream a reality. D-Wave recently announced a deal between the company and the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (QuAIL) for the installation of a series of computer systems built by D-Wave. D-Wave systems are specially designed to study theoretical computing systems, using algorithms and software to run theoretical programs and experiments based on experimental theories such as quantum entanglement and A.I.
