Dawn of AI: Twitter buys London-based artificial intelligence firm Magic Pony

GETTY Twitter has shown an increased interest in artificial intelligence, and acquired Magic PonyTwitter has acquired artificial intelligence startup Magic Pony to help it enhance video and live services on the micro-blogging website. The US technology firm said that “machine learning is increasingly at the core of everything we build at Twitter.” Magic Pony, which was founded in London by entrepreneurs and Imperial College graduates Rob Bishop and Zehan Wang in 2014, will be joining forces with the social network “to improve the visual experiences that are delivered across their apps”. The neural network developed by Magic Pony can restore lost information in blurry or pixelated images.
