Cisco Builds Its House on the Cloud

Cisco’s reorganization, disclosed this week, is testimony that the cloud is the future of both enterprise and service provider networking and computing. The cloud is — paraphrasing VC Marc Andreessen in another context — eating the world. It is a fundamental transformation of computing and networking infrastructure. The cloud has already changed a lot, but there is much more to come. And Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) is looking to stay on top of those changes.
