Charity appoints neuroscientist as new trustee

The Brain Tumour Charity has appointed neuroscientist and entrepreneur Professor Alan Palmer as its new life sciences trustee. Professor Palmer is visiting professor at University College London and the University of Reading, as well as Life Science Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Bristol. Throughout his 30-year career, Professor Palmer has focussed on brain disorders and their treatment. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and formed or co-founded six bio-tech start-up companies. He sits on several boards including those of the British Neuroscience Association, CerestimLtd and One Nucleus Ltd. Founder of the first UK neuroscience-based start-up, Professor Palmer was voted London Biotechnology Network Entrepreneur of the Year in 2005.
