Billionaire Sanford Weill and his wife donate 5 million to UCSF

University of California San Francisco announced on Tuesday that it will receive $185 million donation for UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. Billionaire Sanford ‘Sandy’ Weill and his wife Joan took the decision to donate money, which is biggest ever donation to UCSF for its developmental program. UCSF offers degree courses in health sciences and runs two prestigious hospitals. The donations will be made over a period of time that has not been presently disclosed. Forbes listed Weill in the list of World’s Billionaires in March this year with a net worth estimate of $1 billion. Weill was CEO of Citigroup from 1998 to 2003 and chairman of the company until 2006. Weill has spent five decades in the financial services industry.
