Department of Medicine Residency Program Named an Apple Distinguished Program The Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine Residency Program at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian has been named an Apple Distinguished Program for seamlessly integrating Apple’s iPad into the curriculum. The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments. Led by Dr. Lia Logio, vice chair for education at Weill Cornell Medicine and program director of the Weill Department of Medicine Residency Program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, the initiative put iPads into the hands of 20 faculty and 130 residents in the fall of 2014.
