Author used his PhD in neuroscience to write novel

Metro News featured Jay Hosking, an alumnus of UBC’s neuroscience program, who recently published his first novel. While studying at UBC, Hosking worked with rodents in a research lab, studied their decision-making skills and taught the animals to gamble. His novel, titled Three Years with the Rat, includes themes of science, psychology, and mystery.
