Artificial Intelligence: Cambridge University Launches New Center To Study AI’s Impact On Humanity

In recent years, the likes of Elon Musk, Stephen Hawking and Bill Gates have expressed serious concerns over the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), with some going so far as to term it humanity’s “biggest existential threat.” Now, in order to explore the opportunities and challenges that the rise of human-level intelligence among machines might present in the near future, a new research center has been established at Cambridge University in the U.K. The announcement was made Thursday by the London-based Leverhulme Trust — a nonprofit foundation that awards grants for academic research.
