Apple buys Seattle machine-learning startup

Turi, a Seattle machine-learning startup formerly known as Dato, has reportedly been acquired by Apple. The deal was worth about $200 million, according to Bloomberg News, citing two people familiar with the situation. Geekwire reported news of the acquisition earlier. Turi, which previously was also called GraphLab, did not immediately return a request for comment. A source close to the deal confirmed the acquisition Friday.
