Apple acquires Perceptio, a startup developing AI technology for smartphones

Combining Vocal IQ’s technology with Perceptio’s could help Apple create a much smarter iPhone that’s more like a literal personal assistant. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Though Apple has confirmed the purchase to Bloomberg, it isn’t particularly keen on releasing any more details, with a spokesman merely saying, “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our goal or plans”. The company was not almost as well-known as other startups now engaged in the same domain, a type of artificial intelligence called deep learning. VocalIQ provides native voice dialogue…
