Fungi are an emerging threat in medicine and agriculture. Current therapeutics targeting fungi are insufficient and have high toxicity which has drawn attention to peptide-based therapeutics. Antifungal peptides, part of a larger group of peptides known as host defensive peptides, can be a safer and more effective weapon against fungal threats. Computational techniques can ease the classification and screening of antifungal peptides, which can save time and money in prediction and synthesis of novel peptides.
