Amazon.com Sues Over 1000 Fake Reviewers

Amazon.com has expanded its campaign against fake product reviews by taking a legal action against more than 1000 unidentified people, according to a lawsuit filed in the Seattle Court, Washington on Friday. It claims that the people are providing fake, inauthentic, and misleading reviews on its US website that is affecting the brand image of the whole company. The BBC reports that the suit targets 1,114 account holders of Fiverr.com, which is an online platform for purchase and sale of odd-jobs. It claims that the online seller is doing fake reviews of its products and services for as low as $5.
