AlphaGo Artificial Intelligence Beats Human Champion In Chinese Strategy Board Game

Artificial intelligence, whether people like it or not, is continually advancing. An AI system named AlphaGo has managed to beat a human champion in a strategy board game that relied on “intuition”. Computers have been beating humans in chess due to their processing power and complex algorithms. However, the board game Go is different. Go involves black and white tiles that are placed on a 19 x 19 board. The goal of the game is for each player to try and remove the opposing player’s pieces from the board. It is considerably harder for an AI system to play Go compared to Chess. Google DeepMind and AlphaGo Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) DeepMind, an AI company, made AlphaGo.
