TOKYO — Artificial intelligence has been making great progress in recent years, drawing attention not only from experts but also from the media and businesses around the world.      Global tech giants and other companies are eyeing AI’s huge potential, rushing to embrace the technology to help bring humans’ intellectual capacity to a new level.      In mid-March, Google’s AlphaGo computer program trounced one of the world’s top go players, Lee Se-dol of South Korea, in a best-of-five tournament of the ancient Chinese board game.
